die renzension über einen review der a1 im amateur photographer habe ich gefunden,
ich dachte, der bericht könnte interessant für Euch sein:-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Published today is a review of the A1 in "Amateur Photographer"
magazine. The essentials are that the autofocus is faster than
the Dimage 7's, battery usage is improved and that the
"anti-shake" actually does work pretty well as advertised, and is
reckoned to be fully equivalent to Canon's system. However,
although images are sharp and free from fringing and similar
artefacts, noise is a fairly serious problem above ISO 200 (!.
(Resulting from the blue channel which is odd.) More awkward
are some anomalies in exposure with flash (one shot
overexposed by two stops) a tendency to underexpose and a
colour balance leaning to cyan/green in overcast light. While the
published images do look very sharp and good quality
(especially the macro ones) reading the text of the review
nonetheless divulges the fact that they have nearly all had to be
subjected to post-camera manipulation.
This doesn't actually look too good. Probably the noise in the
blue channel could be sorted with a firmware upgrade, but
technically, apart from the anti-shake, one comes away with the
impression that for a thousand pounds in the UK there is
otherwise little else to be excited about. The reviewer's implied
criticism is that it is somewhat surprising that Minolta haven't
increased the pixel count in the two years since the launch of the
Dimage 7.
As to price, Canon's 300D SLR (6 Mp) is advertised in the UK
currently with a kit lens for the same price. No contest, I think,
unless Canon have made a serious mistake somewhere!
I have no particular wish to start up that rather fruitless "Whither
Minolta DSLR: debate again, but unless the in-camera
anti-shake system is something that is planned for a future
DSLR body, it begins to look as though Minolta can now be
written out of the serious digital camera race. (And I include
"bridge" cameras like the A1 here, since, as really an upgrade to
the 7Hi, it is certain to be overtaken in specification by other
manufacturers pretty soon.)
Anyway, it's worth a read; and at least we know this review was
written by someone familiar with most digital SLR's on the
market and not some anonymous soul grinding axes.
