ZITAT(Slipsale @ 2009-09-11, 18:25) I have the book of J. Scheibel but I don't know german. Scheibel wrote, page 67:
[...]
I have another book (from the same year, 1999) about the 9 : "Minolta Dynax 9" by Thomas Maschke. He spoke about Focusing Screen (page 148) but nothing about this FS 9 M II.
I found both books to be a great read. While Thomas Maschke presents a more independent and unbiased view, Josef Scheibel sometimes offers deeper insights and inside knowledge, as he was affiliated with Minolta for decades. In his "Dynax 9" book, he also mentions several other special order items and camera customizations, not mentioned anywhere else. I am not an easy believer and usually question things unless there is hard proof or at least a very reasonable explanation, but in regard to the information published in his book, I found his information to be accurate in my own research and in-deep analysis of the camera. That's why I have no reason to doubt, that a focussing screen "9 M II" existed in some form at the time of his writing (1999), possibly as a special order custom part, maybe as a test sample or prototype only, I don't know.
ZITATA last question : do you think it's still possible to find this FS nowadays?
I tried many times, so far without luck. :-(
Greetings,
Matthias
