As of April 1, 2010 Backstage 101 and Digital Darkroom is permanently closed.

We're currently working to create new programs and initiatives to support our Sony photo enthusiasts based on the feedback you've been giving us on these sites. We're actually in our planning stage now and expect to launch an entirely new program along with a new home this year.

We originally launched Backstage 101 and Digital Darkroom to provide a venue for learners and fans to meet, share and discuss the world of Sony photography. In the years since, many fantastic online photo communities have emerged and there are now a myriad of options for sharing, posting, and participating across the web. Our new home will live within one of these thriving communities so that we can build upon all they have to offer, plus provide you with unique Sony programs, advanced support and discussions.

You are valuable members of our community and we truly want you to be a part of the next generation of Sony's community experience. If you're interested (and I hope you are!, we would like to involve you in the development of these programs with your feedback (on what you like and don't like).

Nichts Schlimmes, aber schade ist es schon (auch, daß alle Beiträge, die dort geschrieben wurden, somit verloren sind).

Backstage 101 war eine Art Forum mit angeschlossener "Hotline", betrieben von Sony USA für deren Aktivitäten im Fotobereich. Sony hat dort Neuigkeiten rund um das Alpha-System veröffentlicht und Tutorials angeboten. Gleichzeitig hatten die Nutzer die Möglichkeit, Fragen zu stellen und Anregungen zu geben. Viele haben gehofft, daß die Kritik und Verbesserungsideen so tatsächlich bei Sony ankämen...

Sony schreibt ja, daß sie etwas Neues planen, aber offenbar ist das noch nicht über die Planungsphase hinausgekommen, sonst würden sie ja nicht um Feedback per E-Mail bitten. Seltsam mutet es in jedem Fall an, etwas in eine ungewisse Zukunft hinein auslaufen zu lassen, statt einen nahtlosen Übergang in eine Nachfolgelösung zu schaffen. Das erinnert mich irgendwie an die ganze Situation mit der DSLR-A700, als ob Sony überhaupt nicht so recht weiß, wo sie eigentlich hinwollen. Doch dann, bitte, liebe Sony, hört den erfahrenen Anwendern genau zu, auf daß die neuen Gehäuse ein voller Erfolg werden, statt an den Bedürfnissen und Wünschen vieler Anwender vorbei entwickelt zu werden, wie leider so vieles in den letzten anderthalb Jahren...
