Diese erste Version mit Aufsteck-Belichtungsmesser wurde von Joe McGloin (MINMAN) "Modell D" getauft, Minolta selbst nannte sie offenbar "New Minolta SR-1", wie man der dritten Anzeige unten entnehmen kann. Die älteren Revisionen ("Modelle A" bis "C" bezeichnete Minolta fortan als "original SR-1" oder "old SR-1".

Erwähnenswert finde ich einen Absatz in der dritten Anzeige zur "New SR-1" ("Modell D" nach MINMAN). Dort steht, und das habe ich bisher noch nirgendwo sonst so erwähnt gefunden, daß sowohl für die alte SR-1 ("Modelle A" bis "C" als auch die neue Version der SR-1 auf Wunsch eine Einstellscheibe mit Schnittbildindikator verfügbar wäre. Bisher wußte ich das nur von der SR-2 (und auch da nur aus dritter Hand). Entsprechend habe ich diese Information in die Liste aller jemals verfügbarer Einstellscheiben aufgenommen:

Lustig ist, wie Minolta den Schnittbildindikator damals noch (falsch) als "Split-image Rangefinder" bezeichnete:
